well for those who don't know of my car see the sig

i am haven probs still. i can't get freescan to work and for tunerpro i need a definition file and can't find one for my car

when i start my car it barley idles and sounds like a machine gun almost when i rev it.

i need a datalog for sure

is early obd2 knock sensors useless for me? i have one and a pig tail curious if i could use that.

my first datalog a guy about a hr away came out for me but is too busy to do it again. i was getting max retard all the time and i changed the knock sensor and pig tail and it seemed to fix it for a day now i am back to it barley running,no power

just makes me pissed spend like 2k+ on a pos v6 cavaler

have you tried GM410B setting ?

what aldl device do you have?

what ecm do you use? codemask ect.. ?

aldl cable is from mastach.com its a serial aldl and i only know people with usb so i got a serial to usb adapter

installed the drivers for the adapter and still nothing

ecm whatever is in the stock 93 j bodys with the 3.1's lol

the USB adapter looks to be the problem... they never seem to work right in this application. I bought the expencive one from radioshack and it works for everything else... lol


you need the KS from the 3.1, even if it currently makes the car run like crap. See if you can find a laptop with a real serial port. Or if you can somehow bring it to the V6 bash i'll datalog it for ya

aslo when i click ur link i get no downloadable link so i downloaded datamaster aldl interface tester

but everytime i try and run freescan on my g/f's laptop and open freescan with the cable all connected i get,iirc can not find specified file. its been atleast a month since i've messed with my car and over 6mons since its been running and nothing has worked so i just let it sit cause this crap is retarted

the ks is for a 3.1 i just had a obd2 ks chillin here. i wish i could of taken it to the bash i can't even start it let alone drive it.

i put a gal of gas in it last week and its already all gone today after starting it for maybe 5 mins at a time 3 or 4 times in the last week

something doesn't make sense there

as for the xdf i downoaded it opened tuner pro hit select xdf clicke don the extracted file from winzip and it says invalid xdf file

idk wtf is wrong

incase noone saw it heres my first datalog from over a month ago i was running for 19lb injectors at the time, thought i was running too rich cause i was getting cylinder washing and now with the 3100's i'm getting the same thing. i believe its because the car isn't running right now. because my old 2.2 ran like crap because of the cps sounded almost like my car and i got cylinderwashing

i can tell you right now that a obd2 knock sensor will not work, it will cause max knock retard, i know from personal experience, something about there being an inline resistor , same with the connector, no good, you have to use both from the year of your car. start from there, i know how crappy a car runs with max retard , its pretty bad, i just disabled the whole knock retard settings on my chip to get rid of it.

just going 1 step at a time, trying to eliminate some variables here to pin point what might be wrong

he needs the .ads file to datalog with. ive been looking all over trying to find this as well. unfortunately I think if hes having trouble logging with freescan that tunerpro wont work any better. I have a moates.net USB-ALDL cable and its worked in freescan and tunerpro

i was gonna get you to run the tests without the usb adaptor on your desktop
then run with the usb adaptor on your desktop
then run the program on your laptop with usb adaptor

that way you can see wether it is your laptop, or the usb adaptor

cause obviously if it works with and without adaptor on your desktop then its your laptop
and if it doesnt work with usb adaptor on desktop then its the usb adaptor

no need to pull the puter outside to test the aldl cable
just hook it up to your desktop and run the program
make sure the wires arent touching eachother when you do

lol, well if its the usb adaptor and you cant get it to work....
(i may be able to help, just gotta make sure its that)
....and you cant borrow a laptop with serial, then you might have to bring the desktop out to the car to tune lmao

ya thats what i do becuase im stuck with no laptop lol

ok just did the testing, the usb serial adapter connected to the aldl cable ran the test it passed!

ran it without and it passed, so some how some way the laptop i am using is a high ass pos

BUT

i did take my desktop to my car one time to try and run freescan and i ran into the problem i'm haven so that doesn't make sense.....
