    from bszopi:

First of all... learn how to friggin type, unless you are still in second grade like your posts indicate (yes, there are such keys as ENTER on your keyboard).

Second, for those that are interested, this engine was discussed over on GAGT awhile back. So here is the info on the engine:

    J** Supply Full 3400 Engine
J** Forged Steel Crankshaft - Max Displacement: (~3.8L)
J** Forged Steel H-Beam or Pauter Connecting Rods w/High Strength Rod Bolt
J** Designed Forged Aluminum pistons w/Pins (.905), Rings and locks.
Clevite 77 H-Type Custom Low Friction Main Bearings
Clevite 77 H-Type Custom Low Friction Rod Bearings
Clevite 77 H-Type Custom Low Friction Cam Bearings
Si Stainless Steel Valve, (To Be Oversized ~1.2mm)
Hi-Silcon, Dual Coil Valve Springs, (Valve Spring dimensions and load to be determined by camshaft grind)
    J** Custom Bronze Valve Guides
    J** Custom Titanium Retainers
    J** Custom Titanium Valve Keepers
    J** Custom Chromoly Pushrods
    J** 3400 Roller Grind Camshaft
Sealed Power High Volume or High Pressure Oil Pump
    Fel-Pro Head Gasket set
    Fel-Pro Conversion Gasket set
Double Roller Timing Chain & Gears
    Balanced Flexplate
    ARP Head Studs
Gold Extrude Honed 1.6:1 Roller Rockers

As far as a 3.8 in a Beretta, ask nocutt. He has a turbo'd 3800 in his Beretta and its been there for well over 2 years now. And I have yet to hear a complaint out of him about reliability issues.

A lighter crank would have more benefits than just strength from being forged. Its not on the top of my list but if I had the cash to burn I would get one with stock spec, or less stroke if I wanted to make a 3.0 (just copy the 2.8 crank specs).

third i dont own a w body,im installing this into a beretta,so if any one can answer my original question correctly, does the buick 3.8 fit inot this chassis w/o major work........lfourth,lets be honest, who wants to cut and fabricate ,and redo ecm,and fuel sysytems just to put an engine in that is the same size!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!as a general rule of thumb, horse power equates to displacement size.............fifth,after dropping in a buick 3,8 and retro fitting everything, can yoube sure it will work as well as factory?will you be able to cruise 2500 miles to california w/o worry?..sixth,obviuosly if you offset grind the journals, the rods wont fit, they'll need tobe changed, seventh,im not sure about the rod/stroke ratio, but with custom rods and piston, you can change it to whatever the engine will allow, you might be a ble to bring it back up to stock ratio....eigth,a longer stroke guys equals more torque,no ifs and s or butts, and torque is what moves a car,and its the one thing the smaller displacement/stroke engines lack is torque..............yo yo yo keep it real guys
ooops, I lost track of *where* I was...thought this was W-body board!~ anyways, you have a corsica - l/n platform. locate a grand am (same chassis) keep the tranny (updated FDR for the larger torque motor), ditch the 3.3 that will be in there, now buy a buick C code 3800, and take the ECM and harness (C codes were SFI) screw it all together - 165-170hp (depending on year of C code) 225+ ft of torque, stock. buy a few parts from gm or kennebelle, be at 200hp, 250 ft, buy a lot of parts from kennebelle, be around 400hp NA, 600 with a turbo or two. the wallet is the limit.

cost: 1992 G/A with 3.3 and proper tranny locally: $600, C code 3800 from me: $200, ECM and harness from me: $100

so from your $6600 budget you still have $5700 left for K&N filters, cold thermostats, pink shock covers and sTiCkErZ

these prices you are quoting are just out of this world. if I pay $800 for a crank it had better be non-twist forged steel with nitrided journals - and for a big block V8. If im paying $6600 for a motor that Im providing the labor on, it had better be in the 600+hp range NA

The grand am in an N body, the Corsica is an L body. Are you saying those are the same platform?

I have no idea what you just said, and if you read the top of that message it says "from bszopi:", he can't post due to DSL problems so I posted it for him.

should be an email button somewhere. as for the info, all you gotta do is lay your hands on a 3.3 powered G/A to get the parts u will need. I just happen to know one near here for 600 with a suspected bad head gasket

Bye bobby joe. You are the childish one and im not dealing with it. You can discuss 3800s all day long on some other site, since its not a 60V6.
