    Check this out - http://www.6066gmcguy.org/305V6.htm There is a link to the different engine ratings. I especially like the 478M V6. Does anybody know anything about these engines?

      The page title lists it as a 5L. Those old 60V6s have been brought up several times in the last several years. Still interesting to see...

      And remember, back in the 60s and 70s when those engines were around, dyno testing wasn't standardized, so the numbers will be quite different compared to todays standards.

        Yes, and the engine came in a V12 version as well. But rather than simply making the block longer along with the heads, they had separate decks for each of four cylinder heads so they could use the same heads as the V6.

        There were 610ci motors and larger. An absolute monster.

          still 700 or so torque from a v6.. wow, cool. Weird how low hp though for big bore short stroke. See that 1400 tq one? I'm geussing it was the v12...
