Something that puts the cone in the fenderwell loctation and not in the hot engine compartment. You can also build your own. Check these links out for ideas:
Impala 4" DIY CAI
Grand prix CAI "intercooled"
Pretty simple on the larger bodied cars to build your own. My car is a PITA to build a simple and effective setup like that.sigpic New 2010 project (click image)
1994 3100 BERETTA. 200,000+ miles
16.0 1/4 mile when stock. Now ???
Original L82 Longblock with LA1, LX9, LX5 parts
Manifold-back 2.5" SS Mandrel Exhaust. Hardware is SS too.

hehe yeah I didn't even realise that. It's probably a 3400 if he's at this site. Otherwise why would he be? lol. Seems we need a mod dedicated to moving threads lately now!
Anyways, the intakes will work for whatever motor you have.sigpic New 2010 project (click image)

You can build one your self for less than 100. That kit doesn't inlucde a filter. Not saying it's bad though.
I'm not sure if your air box is the same as the 3800. if it is then a drop in K&N would work for the stock air box.sigpic New 2010 project (click image)

well i know for a fact that they sell k&N filters for the 3400, so i would have to buy that tubing and then put in a k&n filter into my stock box? or would i have to buy a whole new box?
so if i were to just buy the kit i wouldnt get the same increase in hp and gas milage as if i were to build my own and add a k&N correct?

Moved so maybe you will get more advise. Id stick with a drop in but after seeing a test done on a truck for different filters and how much dirt they let past...id keep it stock filter. I am not familiar with your exact setup but I know the grand ams with the ram air get cold air already. Getting rid of some restrictions wouldn't hurt but as far as the air temp goes, stock routing was great.Ben

argh, post was moved right as I had a large reply typed.
You can do 1) put a drop in (K&N) in place of the paper filter. Or
2) build or buy a CAI setup with a cone on the end. Your engine will have more of a growl sound to it. I doubt there will be any measurable difference in power from a well built DIY CAI and a prebuilt one. Just price and your time differences.sigpic New 2010 project (click image)
