  • Forged crank

Has anyone seen http://www.jbodyperformance.com/new/...catName=JP0412 before? I posted about it in the LQ1 section, as well. I didn't know there was a forged crank available for any 60*V6 that didn't come with it (don't some of the newer 3x00's?).

Like I said in the LQ1 section, if I got anybody excited but the crank won't work for your engine for some obvious reason, I'm using my fever as a cop out.

Yea thats old news. J-Body performance is the worst company ever. Good luck recieving your parts. It takes 8 months to a year to get anything. They are slow and a ripoff. That crank is a stock GM crank machined down. A quality machine shop in your are could do the same work.

Blast. And here I was thinking I'd done something useful for once.

Just so you don't get the wrong crank at your GM dealer:

I think Ben said this crank is from a 3500 like the LX9 with the 84mm stroke.

There is another 3500 with a 76mm stroke that goes by the RPO code LZ4 or LZE. Unless you want a shorter stroke get the other one.

        Here's a helpful chart:

They can make the claim about adjusting the stroke because the crank has larger journals than most versions of the V660 and can be cut down.

And to confuse things even more, there are actually 2 versions of the 3500 84mm stroke crank. There is the standard one in almost all of the 3500s and then there is the steel one that is found only in the 3500 available in the Buick Terraza.

Yes. The LZE and LZ4 have 99mm bores and the LX9 has a 94mm bore. The LZx motors are both V.V.T. motors and the LZE is an E85 fuel motor. They seem closely related to the 3900 which itself has a 99mm bore.

I wonder if the LZE has additional fuel injector ports somewhere for adjusting to ethanol. If it does, it could be useful to those planning N2O systems.

Ah, that explains a lot. Forgot there is a VVT 3500.
