  • Turbo charger for 3400

Im curious, does anybody sell a turbo chrager kit for the 99+ GA 3400
I have RSM SC but I eventually want to change to turbo, if they make a complete bolt on kit. Just curious?

I dont think so, but I haven't looked around. Most would be DIY jobs. Since you are setup for boost already, all you'd have to do is custom fab the turbo manifolds/exhaust, plumb your oil to your turbo, and mount a FMIC if you want to do that. The tuning/fueling should work pretty well since you probably have a RRFPR/FMU.

Yeah I think Ill wait until someone makes a turbo kit for my car. I dont want to do all the custom fabrication.

Maybe 60degreev6 store should make a kit. That would be cool.

Donkeypunch made various levels of turbo-kits for the 3x00's but their online store has been down for the last few months. There was also another turbo-kit for 99+ grand ams available a few years back that was unsuccessful.

Someone who made headers or a turbo mans would sell like hotcakes unless it was like 1k for headers.

Why would you switch from CSC to Turbo ??

Turbos are cheap to get and rebuild (common). More efficient, builds boost and then holds it to redline. (CSC goes up with RPM directly).

I have heard alot of bad things about my RSM super charger, so when and if it goes out I want to convert to a turbo. I think I might get more power that way

There may be cheaper kits, but normally you wind up having to upgrade parts and eventually it will cost you more to buy a cheaper kit than one that was done correctly. (trust me, I know...)

You still have to tune it and do the fuel system right?

Yes. I think there are only about 3 folks with this "kit", and there are some known issues. I'm not crazy on where the turbo is placed myself, nor the IC setup. It is purdy lookin tho.
