just the block? you'll run into the same problems as those swapping from a 3.1 to a 3x00. bosses are different for the front mount. you'll also run into problems using the 3x00 main caps and oil pan.

Doesn't the 3100 also have a cam sensor? where as the 3.1's dont?

it won't run nicely with out the cam sensor. It affects fueling and will rough bad at certain points.

Manifold-back 2.5" SS Mandrel Exhaust. Hardware is SS too.
Tell him to make sure ge gets a 3100 block. They are alot better in many respects. The best being priority main feed oiling and then the roller lifters.
