  • intake swap question

i was just thinking about all that is invilved in the 3400 intake swap then it occured to me that the upper intakes on the newer 3400 don't have the same bolt pattern of the older style 3100. And i was wondering if you can reuse the upper intake bolts off the old intake for the upperintake bolts on the new intake. W/o actually taking one of the bolts out i think that it would work because the new intake even has little center puch lookin marks on it like where the factory used to drill and tap wholes for the old intakes. But anyway any help would be appreciated. thanks in advance.

The bolts are the same. But as you mentioned, when doing a swap like this you MUST replace both the upper plenum and lower manifold. A 3400 plenum WILL NOT bolt up to an older style 3100 manifold.

Its still a worthless mod IMHO.

yeah i don't expect huge hp gains but i got the intake, TB fuel injectors, and fuel rail all for free so i figured it would be worth it even if it didn't work that much differently. Plus i'm just curious to see what kind of difference it will make.
