  • 2.8-3.4 stroker "kit"

I've read about these before but never heard of anyone on the boards use them. What do you think? I'm not sure what the price is on them

probably find a very low mile 3400 for a fraction of their cost i would think

In order to match a 3.4 using a 2.8, they would have to put a crank in it, which they indicate they do, but in order to match the bore, they would have to overbore the block .12", which on almost any modern engine would be 3 times the maximum suggested overbore.

I would just start with a 3.4 block personally.

Well I have no intentions of actually buying this product... just thought it would be a good piece for discussion

A guy on v6z24.com is using one. I was doing a long distance tune on it (never again) and it was a real bitch to do. They claimed he would have over 200 hp, i think 225-250. He actually had about 180 I believe, and he had all kinds of shit done, including mantacrap parts bolted on! haha, not a winning combination.

I dont think their kit is worth it, at all. 3400s with 1 mod would blow them away!

Ok since it is my car thats being discussed I figure I'd pipe in. First I never blew up the motor, I had a defective cam and change it. The car run 15s NA and 14s spraying a 70 shot of nitrous. That an automatic and still the chip was never right in the vehicle and it still has air/fuel ratio problems. It was my own fault no to be more specific in regards to the build as far as options & horsepower. Of course anything with the right tuning as they say produces 185 @ the crank. So I ended up with 160@ the wheels NA & 190 spraying a 70 shot. The people at ARI are OK but as far as working with there waranttee and responding back its not so great. If I had more knowledge in the beginning I would have done things differently on the build and if they would have been square with the warantte I would have asked them to build me another motor. I will rebuild that motor when I put in JBP 3400 Nitrous special enginneered and designed by Mev. It will also be done by Mev but it will be another hybrid design.

Definetly need the car to tune it. Im sure you will have the same problem with the new engine with it all built up.

So someone said that a 3400 with one mod would blow the ARI stroker away with 1 mod. Well I was wondering will a 3400 fit in a 92 corsica and if so how hard would it be to have to someone do the swap for me? Would it be easier to have the stroker kit or the 3400 with different parts mixed up through the engine?

A 3400 would be a better way to go. As far as swapping it in, read the following thread...
