  • Need help BAD!!!

It looks like RSM is on their way to going out of business....or at least limiting production.

I have their unique 3400 Supercharger system that has a shaft that drives the blower via pulley and belt that has failed. The charger and the shaft are in Toronto clearing customs for repair as the bearing failed and there is excessive play on the pulley side. Although they supposedly are going to fix it, I have been given notice that support in the future cannot be counted on.

What i need is someone who can fabricate a serviceable drive shaft for the Vortech supercharger that can be serviced and or repaired by normal means and is balanced.

If there is anyone out there that can provide such a service and can duplicate or improve on their design, I can provide my system provided it is returned for mock up.....PLEASE pass this along as eventually i will be FCKED

I doubt they use a custom made SC, though if they machine that shaft setup then it would have to be copied. I doubt there is much market for it unless someone else makes a SC setup. Then the shaft setup would be custom again anyway. If its a one off thing, the cost will likely be pretty high. I dunno how many people have the RSM sc setup but if every one of them wanted to get in on it, then it might be more feasible.

Turbos yes.....Superchargers....NO ONE !!!......the CSC is a Vortech off the shelf....its the drive shaft that is made by RSM.....The main customers for this 3400 settup are 3400 GrandAms.......their boards are where I heard of RSM in the first place......Ben is correct......be very carefull especially in the near future......I will be contacting as many as possible to maybe get in on a redesign......I have others on other boards looking into it also............not time to give up yet...too much invested to trash it all....not just yet anyway.......... by the way......any offers on a one year old 3400 CSCsettup once it get back from repair?

maybe you can have someone machine the snout for seals and plumb an oil line in near each bearing and drain it back to the pan like a turbo setup. the lines and fittings shouldnt be a problem for someone who knows how to use tools, drill and tap. but machining is a different story.

Offers, depends if it works with a 94 ODBI system, meaning does it just run off of a FMU, or does it also come with a computer (in which case I cant use it.). Probably out of my price range anyways.

I thought there was a simalar setup, but using a different supercharger. Perhaps that was the magnusun(?) I'm thinking of though... Not sure what you need redesigned/fixed on yours, but wouldn't someone with a good lathe and tooling be able to make it?

I contacted RSM and they told me that they are not going out of business just switching to internet base operations only. You can still purchase parts from them through www.z-spec.com. At least thats what they told me???? But that will definitely make it hard to buy anything from theses guys. But I love my setup and it hasnt failed and I will keep using it.
