are multec 2s physically different size?

Background: 2001 LA1 3400 from W body going into 1989 GP, stock 89 ECM, gonna get programmed.

So I pulled the multec 2s out and pulled out the 19lb/hr injectors out of my 1989 3800, with the intent to swap traditional injectors into 3400. When I line em up side by side though, the O-rings appear to different distances apart top to bottom! How can I put old injectors in when the o-rings are in different places?
