hello I have a 2.8 fiero and was doing a rebuild and was lookin to save some weight will a set of gen2 aluminum heads fit on a gen1 2.8 engine and whats needed to do this?

Yes, tehy will fit, but you will also need to use the genII intake and exhaust manifolds, due to changes from genI to genII, a complete top end swap.
You'll also need to switch to DIS, at which point it's easier to use the genII block and crank to run the ignition system, otehrwise a crank trigger wheel will need to be created. Currently there are none on teh market, but I am talking with a couple people about producing these items, similar to the custom one that I have on my truck.
If you want even better results go with a genIII top end. Same amount of work, with more power in the end.

Chris: If he's going to go through all the trouble of swaping to DIS, genII block, and gen3 topend, why not swap the entire Gen3 engine.
Wouldnt the best way to go about this would be to use a 2.8/3.1 equipped car's harness and ecm. Run the engine like we do in J & L bodies. And swap to the entire 3X00 engine.

And yes you are correct on the harness that would be easiest to use, along with the ECM.
