  • Turbo or Supercharger?

I really would like to know what everyone thinks about usuing a turbo or a supercharger with a 3.1L V6 60 degree engine. I have read many topics in this forum and I couldn't judge the split so I'll run a poll.

I Voted turbo. I think it would go better with a smaller engine in a FWD car. Personally I am going to be using a supercharger. But I have different issues. Like if I force air through my throttle body fuel will spray out. Also there is a bolt on supercharger avalible which is nice too. And I like roots superchargers for their nice low speed boost.

Seems so far that many like the turbo which is what I am probably going to go with. I saw a website that had a 95 Camero with a 660, stock internals, mild ported heads and turbo that put out 334hp or something like that at the wheels. Very impressive

Are his kits any good? It seems as though he has a winner with that setup of his!

Gotta say turbo. I think they are more efficient and are more tuneable (sp?) than a SC.

Should be a fun project to watch.
Wasnt there a twin turbo datsun 510 at www.bryanf.com ? It was a 2.8 with ruggles heads.

Yep...it is still there under the "Other Cars" link. I guess he has moved on to another project, which has taken the main page. Unfortunately, there are only a couple paragraphs and a short paragraph on the TT V6 510. If I remember correctly, he used to have a pretty detailed writeup with pics of the twin turbo build.

Twin turbos would certainally be doable on a 660....you can turbo anything.

BUT, it would be a bitch....and one turbo would perform just as well.

A nice T3 Super 60 should perform well.......4-14 psi no problem.

Don't you guys remember the TT GA from this year's SEMA show? And then there is also the TT AWD Beretta proto-car that was peeked at in an older issue of Hot Rod.

I bet that thing hauls ass! And I agree, trying to fit a TT in a Fiero would be a pain.
