  • 60v6 UIM, LIM, & TB Performance gains

I am about to purchase the p&p uim and lim from the 60degreev6 store, and I also want to purchase a Throttle body upgrade from them, and am not sure to go with the 62mm or the 65 mm for a naturally aspirated engine. Second question is what kind of gains will the ported and polished UIM and LIM give me. These will be going on the 3400 series motor. Thanks for your help guys, this is by far the most knowledgeable gm forum I have come across.

I am out of stock on the 62s. The 65s got all the attention so I didnt bother having more made in this batch since I still had a couple when I needed 65s. Then the 62s sold:P

I have a 62 that was made by kimmo in finland if you want a 62. Cost is 200 for it plus core on whatever linkage you need. Its not as nice of quality as the current TBs but its billet with a plastic cone to bolt the intake hose to. Definetly not a bad piece.

As far as gains go, I haven't dynoed them so I really can't give you any numbers. Guessing really doesn't do anyone any good and saying "up to x hp" is just marketing BS:P Id love to know the real gains, both with a tuned computer and a stock computer. Only time will give use that information I guess:P Perhaps when im done tuning robs 3400 fiero he will let me use his car to dyno test some of my port work.

thanks man, so would it be ok using the 65mm tb on a n/a motor? i thought i read somewhere that the 65's were mostly for boosted applications.

65 is stock on a 3500 and I think GPXSS ran one on his 3400 for a while as well. Phil is running the 65 on his NA 3400 using the 3500 top end. Its fine, and acts like normal other than needing less throttle to get moving quickly. 70mm is too much for sure but I have no problem at all selling a 65 for an NA application.
