turboz24 has a solid roller with the iron heads. for hydraulic , it's something like SBC for one side and buick 3.8 for the other due to the lifter oiling. if you talk to crower, that's who did his cam, maybe they can help you, or even comp cams.Andy

Doubtfull huh. Iv'e posted some of this info on the other boards you just missed it.
As far as the oil hole to operate the hydraulic part of the lifter it's never covered. I also ground a minor radui in the oil galery to insure that oil still flowed. Stock there is a relief ground up high on the lifter that exposes that hole to oil. With my first test I got sprayed with oil because I was watching the lifter without the cap in so intently. (test lifter, only 1 exposed) I slowed the drill down and observed that oil came running out through 2 rev's of the motor but I didn't see alot getting to the roller and cam. Hence the flat. .These lifters are side specific. I wanted the oil hole to point to the pressure side and the flat I ground to point to the leading edge of cam rotation. Therefore you have 6 left and 6 right lifters.
Don't have a picture of the finished lifter with the flat cause there in the motor but I can take a picture of the stock lifter showing the relief to the lifter hole. (can't believe you don't have one) You guys can easily figure out where the flat goes. I just used a dreml tool and a fixture to produce the flat. Same as stock flat lifters.
As far as the plastick hold downs. That was the easy part. I was more worried about oiling than keeping the lifters from rotatin after 2 or 3 cam failures with aftermarket flat tappet cams.
Rotation guides as I call them. It take a bit or grinding on the plastic parts to get them to sit flat on the lifter bores. The lifter bore flats although rough in apperance are 90* to the lifter bores. You have to clear the difference between the two motors. Not to much to do but don't grind away too much.
Holding them down was a real trial and error. If I can find the pictures of the hold downs I'll post them in the morning. Went through a couple 36" sticks of alum and I don't know how many springs.
I'am done it's past my bed time.
I still need my question answered. Has nobody measured a roller cam base circle . Looks like no. I did as every other cam but I can't find it. I guess I am just dis organized. Prolly wrote it on the back of a visa bill. And all the talk about roller cams.
Guess I am on the wrong fourm. Well OK I'll look elswhere.

I don't have any gen 2 lifters. I have gen 3 lifters all over the freakin place. I haven't messed with a gen 2 since I swapped to the DOHC in my 91 GP 3-4 years ago. I hadn't messed with gen 3 till last year. Doubtful? More like no clue and wanted to know what you did you drop them in there. Sorry I don't read whatever other boards you are on explaining all this, but to think I am everywhere and know everything is flattering and totally wrong.
Base circle...info is in the garage and I just got up so ill post it when I get to the garage. Or you can go somewhere else and roll your eyes when someone asks you a question.Ben

Thanks for the info Ben. So the Intake and exhaust are the same size. Thats a plus. My old N/A cam has two different size base circles. I looked in the garage, haven't learned it yet. Can't even change the milage, cost and other things in it. It just reverts back to the orginal. Won't even let me change the model of the car. Yea it's an se but they are not called that.
The lifters cam everything are 3rd gen I guess, from a 2001 or 2002 3400. 3500 UIM whatever gen that is.
