Awesome. It's always good to hear it from each person that did the swap. Everyone says low end got a boost, so the more I hear the more it confirms it. EXCELLENT. I want more off the line power!!! That's the only place I'm lacking. 3300 flow less than 3400 injectors. You should run your stock 3100 injectors and FPR, because the computer is designed to control those. Also you should be using a new O2 sensor if you haven't changed that. It leaned me back out and I picked up a lot of power from it. (was runing rich). I think you replaced yours recently though right?
Going downstairs to start preping everything. Got my die grinder in yesterday!
yup! Last week I changed out the injectors, I think it was wednesday. I just put back the stock 3100 injectors. It does idle worse with them vs the 3300 injectors, but it is a tad quicker when driving around. I need to hook up the scantool and see what the fuel values are now. The cam wreaks havoc on idle even though it's really not that radical. I may get my spare cam done by crane, and I want it aimed for off-the-line power. The 3500 intake did help some, but not enough for me. I drove a stock 3500 in a Malibu and it was STRONG especially off the line. I want that! I replaced the O2 about a year ago with a Delco. Before I mess with the cam though, this OBD1.5 setup has to go, and soon. I need to go OBD2 and preferably grab a PCM programmed for a 3400.
heh, I'm in the same boat, 94 3100 odb1.5. The malibu, did it have lower gearing than your car? I know that my tall gears don't help off the line, I drove a Wbody GP and it was geared way lower than mine. My 1st goes to 45mph, 2nd 85mph, 3rd/4th???

Manifold-back 2.5" SS Mandrel Exhaust. Hardware is SS too.
eh it might have, nothing drastic. Whatever GM's using in a '05 Malibu, probably the 4T45E. The characteristics of the engine were just that much different.
Perhaps the .1 extra displacement, 65mm TB, and "shorty header" manifolds with dual exhaust going into a Y, helps give it that extra power. Certainly doesn't hurt it!

Quick question, Brad should know, or anyone else, but what in mm should be the clearance between the rockers (stamped) and large port 3400 lower manifold? I have a feeler gauge, needing to know what's the minimum gap, since I'm sure stuff expands when hot..
Getting close to done folks. Little things (like rain) holding up the process though.
Oh another "random" question, does PB blaster really work better than WD40 for letting something soak to break free? Is it worth $7 for a can of it? Got to remove the EGR pipe tube from the manifold...

Yes. WD40 is not really that good as a penetrating oil. PB Blaster is the shit.

Hmm. I'll need all the help I can get since I'll be using a wrench on this with no room really. So I'll pick up a can. Thanks.

Ok cool thanks. I'll set my feeler gauges to that thickness. In other news, tapped the plenum perfectly today. Tommorow cleaning that out, and painting the sucker with the logo!!
