  • 3100 to 3.1 Intake manifold swap

Well, i apologize if this topic has been beaten to death already, but I want to know if a 3100 intake manifold would fit onto a 92 3.1 engine, and if so, what other modifications would be required? Thanks for the help

    No

The 3100 intake manifold has different shaped ports so it will not work with gen2 heads. You will need 3100 heads to match. There is a ton of stuff on the forums aswell as info on the main http://60degreeV6.com site.

I just took some pics for jon, didnt see this thread but I will link them here as well for the hell of it. http://www.60degreev6.com/Sappy/gen2and3PR/

First pic is shitty but you can get the point. Second pic I flipped the gasket over and pointed out the overlap of the gasket to the 3.1 head intake port. The coolant passage is lined up perfect with the gasket so despite it looking like the gasket is just shifted up, the manifold will in fact line up like that as well.

it would suck ass if you just dropped gen 3 intakes on gen 2 heads. Major turbulence if not oil leakage into the intake.

no i meant if you swapped the 3100 intakes on the 3.1 the 3100 heads would mount right up right?

yes, you need to use the 3100 heads with the 3100 intakes. 3x00 basically, since 3400 will work as well. There are minor differences to note but overall thats the general idea.
