That was just poor crank design. They lightened it so much that it had no strength.

Sorry to bring this thread back to life but I may of found something. It looks like ATI has made a stock diameter (or close to it) aluminum dampener for the 3400. If someone could verify this, it could be the answer some people are looking for. Summit Racing part number is ATI-917190

Thats interesting. Last time I looked for one on there they had nothing. Must be new. It does say if u click on "check application" Pontiac grand am 3.4L/207ci 1999-2005 GM V6. This would certainly be better than an un-dampended light weight pulley. Guess I'll have to order one and compare it to my stock CP I've got sitting around. Good find.

I may be wrong but isnt that for RWD? Would still be good for some people here. Either way... nice find.

would really like to see how much lighter it is than stock, if my math is correct, ATI= 7.25lbs, what is stock? also looks like they offer them in 3 diff sizes, with 3 diff prices...lol 6 3/8 in., 7 in., or 8 in.

well being they list it for 3.4l 99-05, and there was no 60 degree v6 past 95, id say its safe to say itll fit a 3400.

I'm waiting until I get my car out of storage in spring before I try it. I could check it against my old stock pulley right now, but I want make sure the CKP sensor reluctor ring will fit in it too and install it on the car to make sure it runs properly, so that I can send it back if it doesn't work.

I can think of better ways to spend 370 bucks.
