  • Use of a 96-97 3.4 DOHC TB on a 3x00

I talked to someone today with a 95 Beretta 3100...I forget his name or even where I met him. But he mentioned that he was using a 1996 3.4L DOHC TB on his 3100....it bolted right up I guess.....what do you think of this?

AFAIK, the 96-97 are seperate from the plneum, unlike 91-95s.

Also, want do 96-97 TBs measure? I *think* 91-95s measure 67mm....

If it bolts up or not I don't know. But the 3100 UIM is only 55mm. So He's done some kinda porting to make it work right.

might work, ive thought of doing that myself.

i have a 2.3L Quad4 throttle body on my engine. only due to in part that at the time of my hybrid build i had this "free" t.b sitting around that was stock 56MM. and couldnt find a 3400 t/b locally,

ive since bored out the 2.3L t/b to 60mm.
only had to make a 1/4inch thick plate that goes between the two pieces to cover the missmatched IAC port openings. that and made a custom throttle cable bracket. nothing an afternoon with a grinder and welder couldnt fix.

"3x00" is how we refer to the 3100 and 3400, without making specific reference to either displacement.

GM used a DOHC 3.4 throttle body on the project Malibu a few years back, the Yellow "238hp" one.
              I modify stuff
