if you don't wanna tune it then its stupid to waste that much money on a s/c. do it right the first time or go home. why waste money and blow ur engine???sigpic

haha u STILL didnt answer my question. the reason i was asking this was to see if i could hook the supercharger up, maybe run it once, then when i got the money-get a megasquirt II setup to make it run right (the car is gonna do a LOT of sitting until may 9th, & is probably going to see one run, which will be when i show my friend what a 3100 with a couple of mods can do lol). im assuming by your reaction that it wouldnt work out whatsoever without the tune up? also is there anyone in ohio that i could just take it to to have it tuned, or would that be a fortune?

i am sure you could run it at low boost but get some kinda a/f gauge preferably a wideband to make sure your not running lean, cause i would guess your gonna keep the fuel system stock until you get everything elsesigpic

you'll see gains. probably not a lot because its not tuned and you arent adding more fuel, but simply because you are forcing more air in. Like a fancy expensive new air intake, basically. IMO you might come out safer just waiting until you have all the parts in hand.

thats the idea, because ill have the money for either the supercharger or the megasquirt pretty soon, but not enough for both (atleast for a while), do you guys think that would work for like 1 day of running it (not even a whole day)? also i live in ohio, & where do you go to college, northwestern?

You'd be better off putting the Megasquirt on there FIRST before you put a supercharger on it. Putting the megasquirt on their first will give you time to figure out how to tune it, and how to make all the adjustments you wanna make - then you can put the supercharger on there. Doing it in the reverse order could end up costing you a lot more money.
But, to answer your question, if you put the supercharger on there first, running very low boost (1 - 3 lbs) you would probably see a small gain in power - but you'd still have a HIGH risk of damage..

theres this new invention in the banking world. Its called a "savings account". This type of account allows you to put away money with intrest untill you deiced to take it out and use it. Perhaps for a proper setup for your car.

If you have a 96, why not get a DHP to tune your stock computer? Does a 96 have a MAF sensor? If so, then that would be the easiest way to be able to tune.
Do not install a supercharger without the ability to tune when you an afford the tuner first. Otherwise you likely wont have anything to tune later.Ben
