  • 1988 fiero intake manifold matchup question

    hay guys im new here i looked for this subject in here but i could not find it any where i have a 1988 fiero v6 5 spd i want to start hopping up i was wondering if anyone has ever tryed to put the stock fiero manifold on a set of gen 3 heads if it wont work what heads will it work on

    Will not work, and this has been asked and answered countless times.

    The genIII heads require the use of the genIII intake, which also requires the use of DIS ignition, at which point mechanically it will be easier to just swap the entire engine, so that you can gain the nessisary crank position sensor that is in the side of the block.
    You could do like I did and build a custom crank trigger, but the only reason(s) I did that was because I'm using the genIII heads in a longitudily mounted RWD application, and couldn't find a cheap 3.4L block from an F-body. (3.4 has the crank sensor hole).
    I will be building a custom intake in the future, to accomidate a dizzy, or built an offset dizzy, because the LIM interferes with dizzy fitment.
