ok i stand corrected i just haven't seen one before...
My '02 GP has a 1 bar MAP for when it's in Closed Loop. It also has a MAF for when it's in Open Loop. If one fails, it reverts back to the other... that's why you need a GOOD VE tune... if you can put down power without the MAF, you should be good to do the MAF tuning.

If you want to "see" a MAP it's on the back of the UIM looks kinda like a little black box, and it's in the way of taking off the middle bolt for when you swap the intake out (on a modern '01+ 3100 / any 3400)... not sure where it would be on an older 3100, but I imagine it would be in the same place... Oh and it has a "T" Vaccum line that goes who knows where on your car, and immidately up to the MAP.

Then again, I could be backwards on the whole open/closed loop thing... (It's after midnight, and I've been up for more than 24 hours... Starting to sound like Charles from DHP).

I believe the MAP is used in both conditions, which plays a pretty big part in your Long Term Fuel Trims (this is just something I have taken away looking at the fueling description & operation in the GM service manual). I believe it is also used to check the MAF for sanity, which if a problem is detected, the PCM enters Speed Density mode. (I've had this happen a few times)

As for the "T", it comes from the UIM, and then you have the "T" which one end goes to the MAP, the other travels to the FPR.

no offence but from your posts here and in other threads it is obvious that you dont really understand what you are asking or what you are talking about.

If I were you I would reccomend spending some time actually reading some of the articles on this forum as well as some of the older threads. Much of what you have asked about has been covered in some for or another in the past here.

I would also reccomend picking up a book called "Maximum Boost" by Corky Bell. It is THE bible of boost and is a must for anyone looking to put thier own kit together.

Finally hit up google and so some studyig on forced induction and car modifcation, there are folks that have similar engines that have entire parts lists on thier websites. You have but to find them.

          Also may I reccomend:
HowStuffWorks has been explaining how things work to curious minds since 1998. Providing factual, unbiased content that's fun to read and makes difficult topics easy to understand.

As much as we are around here to discuss tech topics and help people out we are not a "free" service as we just spit out info on command. And many of us, myself included, do not appericate someone who just wants the quick awnser spoon fed to them. particularly when much of the information you are asking for is a simple search away.
