Is there anyway I can beat a LT1 that is pushing 500hp?

^if that's the Jimmy you're talking about in your sig, those numbers dont exactly say "own you". I know mildly built turbo 3400 cars that run faster times and trap speeds.

    shall the list go on?

But to point out to the contrary, Dynojet and Mustang dynos both dont give the same HP rating, maybe I didn't understand you correctly though.
Umm, The OPs 3400, it's N/A, there hot rod.
Again, read my post, I had no traction and no fuel, now that I have or will have both, I'll be much quicker than those times you posted, guaranteed.

HP, is a calculation of work over time, I don't remember the exact calculation, but something like 6 tons moved 4 feet over 1 minute or something to that effect, I just don't care about looking it up.

I knew someone was going to bring up the Dynojet Vs Mustang Dyno issue.....

Two of the same dyno can show different numbers. Two consecutive runs with no changes on the SAME dyno can show different numbers. There are a lot more variables than the brand stamped on the side of the control box for the dyno.

yup, currently. But, he said he's building it up, and various forms of power enhancers have been recommended. If you're talking about his STOCK 3400, then yeah you have a point. However, that's not what he asked.

and if you knew somebody would bring up the Dynojet Vs. Mustang issue and knew your point was going to get blown out of the water, then why did you say it?

and I hope your times are MUCH quicker than the times I posted, otherwise you'll be getting owned by several 3400's that I know of, this season.

He asked about his 3400, not what it would do after making umpteen thousand changes...

How did my point "get blown out of the water" It did not, I waited for someone to bring it up to show thier ignorance to actual measument and differences between conditions to take those measurments. Re-read my last reply it may take a few times but it will make sense.

I'm not about to start bench racing, when my truck is back together, I'll run anyone, win or lose, I like to race. Besides, my truck is becoming my beater once again, like it was when I ran those times, I just hadn't gotten back to the track since I made some of the upgrades.

ok....then I'm ignorant. Enlighten me. Explain again what you said about all HP being the same, and something about the other guy being an idiot (paraphrased).

HP is HP and the CORRECT scientific formula is standard, agreed. But....the method in which it's measured and accepted by the public as accurate reading by various means, isn't. Joe Blow says he has 400hp in his car, but doesn't know that it really doesn't mean crap because there's too many variables invoved from different dyno's, etc.

Fix me so I can know-it-all too.

sounds to me like he wasn't talking about with his stock 3400, IDK, maybe I misread that.

depending on the model sunfire he has, he might have to swap a different tranny in. if i remember the dohc quad 4 type motor won't bolt to 660's. his options are the 5 speed from the 2.2 ohv, or the 5 speed gretag HM-282. and if h'es got an auto, you auto guys will have to lead from here...

I am not about to get into a pissing match over this with someone who obviously does not understand physics and calculations.

Also this question was posed on another board by the same member where it was indicated that the question was based on stock N/A 3400.

yeah, I can understand that. I wouldn't wanna get in any pissing matches if I were you either. You've already peed allover yourself a couple of times since this started.

Ok, so bottom line is, x, your stock 3400 will get walked all over by an LS1 S-10.

Build it up the way a couple of us are doing, and I bet you can make him kick himself, but it's gonna take more money than most people are willing to spend on that engine/tranny.

Any further debate on this, Raven, feel free to PM me on it to avoid embarassing yourself any further. However, I've said my piece on this thread, and have no further comment.
