Extrude honing could possibly take too much material out of the inside and then screw up the vane area.

Yup! Just a gasket match will suffice with it. Unless one was to run with no vane. Then yeah Extrude honing would be the solution.

If I had my way I'd already be fabing up a nice exhaust system for it.....

hey, so the 3900 intake wont fit on top of the 3400 lower? is the bolt pattern different or is the port locations different aswell? If the bolt holes would physically line up maybe (well not maybe) a phenolic spacer or adapter plate could be made to raise the intake and get this to work.

then just have to worry about the variable vanes. an rpm adjustable switch to turn on and off should do the trick, but getting this manifold mounted i think is the first problem.

        Colin what do you think?

8 bolts on the 3900 versus 6 on the 3x00... And the location of them is physically different as well. I'm sure there could be a way to take a 1/2" XXX material and make an adapter, just not sure it would be worth it. I mean, I have an adapter to fit a 3.1L TB on a 3x00 plenum, so anything is possible.

i don't know about putting a 3400 intake on a 3900. its been said that making a plate could work. i'm wanting to know about that new timing cover design on the 3900. could that be takin off and swapped with one from a 3100 or 3400? i'd love to see if that mod could be made. drop that big boy in my car if it would work.
