  • Oilflter relocation??

    Hey i was wondering if there is a car that has a remote oilfilter, kinda like the 4.3L 4x4 jimmys. kuss my oilfilter is a little too close to my steering, it actualy rubs on the oilfilter.. i juss wantend to fix it b4 it becomes a big problem,

    I don't know about factory, but there are aftermarket remote filter adapters. I have one on my 3.4. I could dig up a receipt from years ago, but you can probably find one on the web. Look it over carefully when you buy, or make sure you can return it if it doesn't fit. The one I got had the hose fitting bosses sticking out too far, and it would not screw on without the bosses hitting a part of the block near the filter sealing surface. It took a lot of hand rework and JB Weld to make it fit and not leak.

      Agreed you can use almost any remote kit that is made for a Chevy. Just buy the ones with the best in/out line position you can find.

        TRD-1050 is the part number on summit for the spin on adapter. It specifically fits the 3.1 oil filter threads.

        TRD-1028 is the oil filter remote bracket. It fits PF1 oil filters (5.0 mustang size filters. You can also put a diesel filter on that too that's really huge).
