sorry i guess i didnt specify what i was trying to figure out
i was talking about powerband and how high in the revs it would still make power and what else i might have to deal with in such a case

It should be a fairly nice setup. I would expect the powerband to go up a little over 6krpms, maybe 62-6400ish??? If the heads are ported especially. I don't have any personal experience with a setup like that but that would be my guesstimate.

Usage of the 272, 1.6 3100 stamped rockers, LS6 springs, GEN 1 adjustable rocker studs, with GEN 3 top end Will increase the operation range well into the 6000+ rpm range. Bottom end torque will still be avalible if you can keep the compression up. I recommend either 3100 pistons or For a much higher compression, Iron head GEN1 pistons. The car will idle rough and stall often at stock speed. Tuning is a definate must to get it streetable, unless you have a mass air meter, then it might be ok.

Can't we get a set of custom pistons? What idle speed would be better for that cam?

well the 3100/3400 pistons will give you the minimum compression requirements and you should be able to run midgrade fuel. Custom pistons can be had but obvioulsy not cheap. I'de run the 272 with the 1.6 rockers tuned ath 950 rpm.

I don't think you can run stock springs with that cam. Too much lift IIRC. Some ls6 springs would work well.
