  • Lunati Valve Springs.

i called my friend at auto-zone just to see what they can do for ls-6 valve springs. He looked it up, and they offer Lunati springs for the ls-6 for a little under $7.00 a spring. but they dont list the spring rate or any specifications. does anyone know anything about these springs? and will they be a good choice for a cam in a 3400?

That may be true but I bet they are not Beehive springs. They may fit the LSx engine but it does not gurentee it is beehive. Can you get a P/N?

I hope for $7 a spring that they're beehive!! You can get stock LS6 springs from GM for like $3.xx ea. Don't have the part number in front of me but I know they are in that range.

Check out GM parts direct look under a 96 corvette vin 5 they are $5.91 a piece and for a set of 12 it would be $87.94 shipped that is not including the retainers.

That wouldn't be an LS6 spring now though would it. That would be an LT1.

My bad, they are not ls6 springs for the 96 corvette vin 5, but Arron you are not correct either they are LT-4 springs.

                  Specs on a LT-4 spring are 100 lbs. (45.4 kg.) Seated -260 lbs. (117.9 kg.) open Part # 12551483

LS6 springs part #12565117 are $5.82 each from GM parts direct. The point is that they are not anywhere near being $3.00 a piece from GM.

I forget not everyone gets wholesale parts. I can get them for somewhere in the $3 and change range. I've bought some in the past and I'm sure thats what they were. I'll try to look up the part number, but they can be had for less than $4 ea. from GM, at least they could've been had for that price a little over a year ago.

So will those Autozone springs work in place of 3.1MPFI springs?
Where would you get the retainers?

They are install & go, right?

Sorry for the jacking of the thread.

                          $1.49?!? :where?:

If they fit right, I'll buy a set right now. I've only seen them for over $2.25ea.

I am looking for something that will give me secure nonfloatability (Is that even a word? lol)
