  • MT2 install

This is in a 97 olds cutlass w-body. First of all would the MT2 bolt up to a 96' 3100? Second, is there any electrical connections on the transmission, and if so what are they for? Would it be a lot more simple to put the 5-speed getrag in?

    RE: MT2 install

no, the mt2 wont bolt up, it used a different bellhousing, it would be easier to bolt a getrag in.

there are electrical connections. the vss and reverse light switch on the manual needs to be hooked up. however, your gonna have lots more to do to keep the pcm out of limp mode. your 3100 uses an electronicly controlled auto. when its not hooked up, the pcm sends the motor to limp mode. you will have to have the pcm reflashed to remove the auto trans maps.

milzy does pcm reflashes now and they can get rid of torqe managment on request. so that shouldnt be a problem

Torque management is alot different than all of the auto-trans functions.

What about an MT2 swap on a 94 Z24 3.1? The OD would be nice.
