  • Supercharged 3100

I heard rumors of a company that made antakes to mount the supercharger form a 3800 S/C on a 3100 V6. Has anyone else heard of this. I want some descent power for my car so.

I think there is a thread somewhere on here about that, but it is a cut and hack job. The person made an intake from machined aluminum, and custum made the plenum top open to bolt the 3800 sc on it. They really did a pretty good job. Very time consuming, also, it sits up about 6 inches on top of the engine, a 4inch cowl hood won't even cover it. The stright bolt on, no tuning I thought netted 14.6-14.8, but i'm not real sure about that.
Don\'t hate me because I\'m horny.

That is what you are looking for I would guess. Not very time consuming, takes him 1 and a half hours to go from N/A to SC. I think he had it down to a 14.2 with a crap track at Bfest

yeah, ive seen a couple guys pull that trick. Theres also a kit that mounts an M62 side ways with a custom snout to reach the other side of the engine.

IMHO there are better, more efficient ways to make boosted power.

i think Paxton Superchargers makes something for us. I'm sure you can get a turbo in there as well. With that and some mods, you can get all that and then some!!

turbo is the best form of boost and the 3100/3400 responds well to it. Cars running 8psi intercooled commonly see close to or over 300hp

Donkeypunchperformance.com is the only place that has a complete turbo kit. Since you're a 95, you're on your own as far as tuning as they only support OBDII. Another turbo kit was made for the 3400 in 99+ grand ams but I think it had major issues.

Are you talking about the Grand Am SC/T with the 262HP? That was a sweet concept car!

I wish somebody would get the G@#damn tooling for that kit on mounting the m62 sideways. I have asked about that for the last 2 years and came up with nothing. The eaton company said they qiut making it do to low demand. DUH!! price at 3500+ and of course there will be low demand! You can find rebuilt m62's on line for less than 500-700 bucks, and find them off the old bonnies 3800 too. If we could just make those mounting pieces and t-body hook-up, this would be a great cost effective supercharger. Still not as "all-out" as a good turbo, but still good. C-mon, i know we got a CNC person on this forum somewhere. Help!!
