Question: What ECU did you end up using? I'm using the old 91 MPFI ECU, so i've got a few more issues to work out with it. That and the damage to the suspension/steering systems. Right now it feels like it runs 19's or worse. It's got the wrong knock sensor and it lets you know once you get enough load on the motor (anything higher than 1st gear)

A friend at work was talking to me about it and asked about when i said the timing fully retards itself. He asked how I knew. His G/F has a 99 Civic Si. So i summed it up like this.

Me: "You know what it feels like when the VTEC kicks on in that car"
          Him: "Yeah"
Me: "Well, it's like that.... except just the opposite"

The problem really isnt the KS itself. I have a new one sitting over in my GTP ready to be installed. But, since I didnt get that part of the MPFI harness (due to the damage to the car) I dont have the plug to connect to it. So I guess i'll be down bugging the chevy dealer here when I get a bit of $$.

One other thing too. From looking at GMPCM there is a "Lean Cruise mode" Exactly how lean is it supposed to get? cuz I had it cruising and it.. well, the red lights were on on the A/F. Is it just cuz of the ECM tuning on the injectors? I figured if anything it would still stay too rich.

No, it will go 15.3:1 with stock settings enabled. I noticed that too on franz's car with it in lean cruise. Still runs good though. Now, I dont know if its really 15.3:1, but that is what the computer is programmed at.

Running the old delco ecm in there you will need the same year Knock sensor. The 3400's and whatnot use a different style knock sensor that will not provide the right signal.

Chris (FarmerZ24) is using the same ECU as I am. The Holley Commander 950.

I know that. The reason I have it hooked to the wrong sensor is because it seemed to run (or at least idle) better with it hooked up. And like I previously said, i need to hunt down the plug. Since the new KS has a different electrical connection on it, I cant just swap it over.
