what do you have against flowmaster mufflers??? i hate the 40 series on a v6, way to rastpy and lound. the 60 series is meant for smaller displacment motors (4 and 6 cyl). they are pretty quiet overall and arent raspy at all, just a nice deep low tone.

        Very nice!
I just sold me old headers that were also made with the 2.8L Hedmans.
        How's the power now?

Best system I have seen on a Cavalier, other than all the clamps of course.

clamps were something i had to do. i originaly used muffler cement and tach welded the cats in place. unfortunetly the tack welds broke and i had to do something in a hurry, so i just clamped them. i wouldnt have been able to weld the cats all the way around, there was no way to get the exaust down far enough to weld the top, so im just gonna leave the clamps on there. plus if emmisions testing gets the boot next year, the cats are gone.

hard to tell what it did for power. i built the headers and exaust when i put the new motor in. i ran a 15.64 at the last street legal night at the track. i need better tires, and tuning. im sure i can get it into the low 15s na, but we are gonna see what itll do with boost........

they look durable, what you could do is cut some two 1/4 inch plate and cut a holes in them, and 2 bolt holes, then cut the exhaust pipe and welt the flages that you just made to the pipe, do that on both ends of your cats, that way you can have nice strong REMOVABLE exhaust system

I think i'm in love. I wish i had some damn fabercating skills, cuse all i have ever heard since i bought my '95 ga is
" the best mod you can do for that engine is put headers on it, if you can firgure out how to make it fit." i have heard this from factroy mechanics, to people on web forums to my damn neighbors. I guess it has something to do with "scavgeing" and the fact that these engines and the way the firing order is makes that effect go nuts. So, can good exhaust shop make me something like this?
Don\'t hate me because I\'m horny.

a good exaust shop could. my headers and exaust has around $700 canadian in materials, and i spent a full weekend and about 4 hours each night for a full week building it all. id expect to pay around $1200 alone for a true dual exaust from a shop.

Sharkey. The one problem I can see happening is the cat converters not lighting. Since you have split the exhaust and are running 2 cats they are only getting flow from 3 cylinders. This may not be enought heat to make them work. Just a warning for testing. Oh and don't expect Air Care to go away. Infact I hope it stays so BC keeps pulling god damn beaters off the road. I still get pissed every time I see a Dadge Caravan just pouring the blue smoke out the back.

Also do you have any flexable sections in that system? I didn't see any but you better get some before something breaks.

i checked the cats with my temp gun. about 340 going in, and at least 450 going out (temp gun doesnt go higher), so they are deffinitly lighting. there are no flexible sections in there, but im not worried at all. the rear mount is solid, the trans and front engine mount are polly filled, so the motor doesnt move at all.

im not holding my breath either on aircare getting the boot, but i can always hope.
