  • Edelbrock Uinversal TB's 70mm and 75mm

I was bored at work and was flipping through the Edelbrock catelog and noticed the universal TB's. You can get em' in either 75 or 70mm. You can order an undrilled adapter plate too to make it fit almost anything. The only problem is, I didn't see any provisions for the IAC. Feedback anyone?

    RE: Edelbrock Uinversal TB

Pics, links? Never heard of it but could be interesting. Though, i think the 4.3 vortech at 70mm is probably gonna be cheaper and an adapter plate can be made up. Id like to get the guy on v6z24 to have them cnc made cause id love to offer them on the store.

is the 4.3 75mm? i thought it was 70mm.... as for the adapter plates, i am making extras, i just sold my 1st copy, i will be making 6 copies total, after that, i would have to buy another huge sheet of aluminum and i just dont want to cuz of the cost...

Aftermarket BBK, for LS1 is 80mm, and has the IAC. Stock, I believe is 70mm, going by the MAF size of 75mm. And that brings up another question. Why is the MAF larger than the TB?

              Interesting.

Why is the LQ1 MAF larger than the TB? 62 vs 68? I figured the LS 1 would be the same.

And wouldn't that be too much air anyway?

75mm on a 3.4 liter pushrod....I guess if your plenum is way undersized. Really depends honestly, but I really wonder on its effect on MAP readings.

Edelbrock is the most respected name in performance! Since 1938, Edelbrock has manufactured its core products like Carburetors, Cylinder Heads, Intake Manifolds in the USA for quality and performance.

                    Last one in the list

We eliminated the idle air motor mount and all unnecessary vacuum tubes, making these throttle bodies especially well suited for boosted applications.
depending on how thick thier adapter plate is you could possibily modfy it to take an IAC, or you may need to make a 1" spacer for the IAC.

I'd rather start with a Ford TB and get the Holley IAC adaptor, would make the overall picrure easier.

my question is, if your going to go that big why not just use an LS1 tb? yeah they have a universal adapter plate but an adapter isint that big of a deal.

My question is, what plenum are you planning on using? Chris (GPXSS) had a 65mm TB on a new style 3100 plenum, and to match the opening to the bore of the TB was starting to make the TB neck kind of thin. Port out much more than that and you'll be risking failure. And why put a huge TB on if you can't have the opening into the plenum match...
