RE: OBD II FWD AT to MT?

PM heavywoody either here or on Beretta.net, as I think he is the only person that has done it with a OBD2 Beretta.

        geoffs car is obd1

Elroy on bstuff and a couple others have swapped manuals on their 3x00's. If you want your car to run better I would invest in a DHP tuner to remove the trans codes.

I only know what has to be done in a w body, but im gonna say you will need the shifter and cable from your platform's 5 speed option (whatever year). Might need custom axles, depends on if anything changed between years. I had to pull my firewall plate (dash to get to that) and swap it to the 5 speed plate. Others have just ground the round hole out to the proper shape though. Do you own a beretta? Might help others if you listed your car in your signature:P takes the guessing out of it.

Unfortinately, the transmission is half the functionality of the PCM, that is why it is not called the ECM

You should provide for a VSS signal as well, and do your best to remove all torque management. You may have to ground a few pins that used to go to the AT as well. Still, I can not say it would definately work, but I have read where some have. Talk to:

FastFieros of Dallas does some of the finest 3800 Supercharged installations in the USA. We sell parts and provide labor on smaller items as well.

The best option would be to get a calibration of a car with a similar setup, however, I am not aware of any 96+ vehicles that have a manual tranny bolted to a 60° besides the new 3.9 G6 with 6-speed. The problem with using this is the fact that GM has migrated to CAN from VPW with this vehicle. The PCM is different hardware, and the calibration is 1mb rather then 512k. At this time, I don't believe it is supported by DHP, but I'm sure it eventually will be. To get this type of configuration to run correctly, I would imagine you would need the PCM and BCM, as well as attempt to handle the drive by wire TB.

I have thought about this one quite a bit in recent months. It would be fun to use that new 6-speed

If you contact Germ at Donkeypunchperformance.com he can get you a line on the DHP powertuner. Its around $410 for the unit.

Berettas dont need a firewall plate because the holes for the clutch pedals are outlined in the sheetmetal. If you remove the panels below the steering column you can see them and drill them out. Basically you need everything from a 5spd v6 car.

I have a setup for an older 2.8/3.1 Beretta for sale. Comes with everything you need to swap into a 87-91 Beretta.

You will need new 92-93 V6/Quad 4 5spd axles with tone rings for the ABS sensors, and you will also need the body welded mount for the trans mount, and also the drivers lower cradle from a 87-91 and the passenger side cradle from a 92-93. I can subtract some cost because there are some parts I have that you really dont need like the old style engine mounts. I'd say price would be around $400 for the whole thing, Trans, flywheel, cables, shifter, pedals and hydraulics.

How clear That is my site. If you are referring to the PCM pinout you could always save and resize the image, however, I am not the author of the image.

As for the information contained, it may not apply to _all_ OBDII 660s, but the 99 N-body vehicles could perhaps count on that info.
