My radiator has 175k and is not as efficient as it use to be obviously. Its also for an auto which I no longer have.

Now with a turbo coming I want everything to be in tip top shape. So I heard some things I am not sure are true. I heard the fan on the 3100 cars was different and a better design then the older cars. I also heard W-bodys have dual fans.

I am looking for the best direct bolt in I can get. So a new 91 radiator for a manual plus a 3100 fan and or dual fans...which of that will work? I also heard a TGP radiator would leave a lot of room for intercooler piping but I have no idea if that fits without modification.

    Thanks for any info.

I just got a THICK aluminum radiator for my V6 swap... it sure is nice, If you have the money get a good rad, your engine will thank you by the time you get that turbo on there.

when gettign bigger rads you also have to get better fans since it will be much harder to pull air through it. a fully shrouded dual fan flexalite? setup is your best option, but they're $$$$

Get a rad from a manual car. It will work much better because there wont be any wasted space where the tranny cooler was. So it will cool better because of more cpacity.

The 94+ Lbody fans have a much better design and a are a good upgrade. We put one on dustins GTU and the difference is very noticable. Listen to both fans run at the same time and the difference is huge, I heard mine on my 93 next to a z26 at a gas station once, whoa. I think that and a new gm radiator for a manny tranny will rock it out. Also go 180 thermo and the like, maybe even wire the fan to a switch. Redline Water Wetter is also quite good.

          14.60 @ 96.33 for now...

Thanks Kurt, that was the info I was looking for. The newer fan was a bolt in correct?
