  • how to wire a vac adv distributor & coil

I need to wire up my vacuum advance distibutor and coil with tach line, without an electronic ignition module or ECM. Just plain ol'fashioned like.

Trouble is I don't remember how to do it. It is pretty simple if you know how.

Does anybody have a diagram or can give some pointers?

It has the GM coil with the 4 secondary terminals plus the distributor output.

The distributor is the Chevy Blazer vacuum advance distributor.(2 wire)

      Thanks,

usually, a white wire designates a tach signal. connect switched hot to your coil and i believe there may be a wire from the coil to distributor and that is pretty much it i think. it has been a while. best bet may be to get a hayes manual for you vehicle.

Here is an answer to the original question

It took some research on my part because there doesn't seem to be a readily available diagram. So here is one. I installed it and it works.

Glad to hear you got it running Arn. Was the MSD the problem?

              yes

Yes definitely and it fried my distributor module to the bargain.

              Take care.
