Yes all rods are forged. But how they are forged and of what, makes a difference.

Powder rods are not as strong as steel. However they are almost as strong, cost far less, usually have better as cast tolerances and are much closer in weight to each other.

But for overall strength Forged Steel is strongest.

see I've always heard powdered rods are stronger because they have less imperfections, and less stress on the rod during manufacturing.
