    Don't the fuel injection engines have intakes with bigger runners ?

    Also, I noticed most of these type intakes have the injector assembly turned at an angle.

    ther are 3 types of MPFI for the 60 degree v6.

    1: iron heads, like the camaro, old z24, and fiero, this has a 3 part manifold and the injectors are sort of grouped, you have 2 in a pair and 1 alone for each bank, and there is a cold start inector on the early ones. the manifold is sort of squat and the runners are kinda flat. older setup has distributor.

    2: gen2 the first go round of aluminum heads, 2 peice manifold and the injectors are more evenly spaced. there are a million or more of these setups. alot like the first one runner wise, but not interchangable.

    3:gen3 the best for performance, newer aluminum heads. much larger runners and plenum, this setup has the injectors evenley spaced and all are angled for optimum fuel delivery. again, not interchangable with the others.

    if you upgrade your heads and a few other things you can use whatever setup you like.

      Gen 3 would be SFI, although at WOT it reverts back to MPFI...

        I am new to the V6 game guys. I appreiciate this site. My little brain is sucking up all this stuff.

        It's been a long time since I went to a site and just felt totaly ignorant. LOL.

        I have had a little experience with V6 GM engines. Fieros and such.

        I drove a company car back in 93'. It was a Cavalier Wagon. I took it in for basic service after the first 3000 miles. I asked the dealer folks about the car and they ran the numbers. Turns out it had the Z-24 package even though it wasn't badged.

        That car really ran well. It was quick and I had no trouble hanging in there with Mustangs and other so called fast cars. I don't remember what engine it had. That little car changed my ideas about V6 power and FWD.

        I put just a little over 300,000 miles on it in three years. It never used or leaked a drop of oil. The company sold those cars for $800 bucks apiece. My boss wanted mine so I missed out.

          technicaly the z24 was just a coupe or a convertable. but i suppose with the added weight of the wagon body they probly put all the same stuff on it so it would be more stable despite its weight.

            not sure about bigger, but definately longer. look at the 350 TPI. plennum at the top, the runners curve down into the lower intake manifold, then cross over to the opposite side of the engine. it's not a wet system, so the runners can be longer to give more torque with a flatter torque curve
