  • my engine install (more pics added)

as of last saturday, i pulled my car off the road to start the engine swap. the old engine still ran great, and the day before i rolled 400k km, and as far as i can tell, the heads have never been off it. the new motor is finnished and ready to go in.ive cleaned the engine bay and painted it, and will continue to clean wiring up once the new motor is in.

the header thats on it is for an s10. i got the pair brand new for dirt cheap and am hacking them up and build custom. im waiting on my mounts and my clutch (from the bully GP) and ill be set. hoping to have it back on the road in august.

will a distributor fit with that upper intake? i thought the fiero had the throttle body off the other side over the belt. looks sweet. and how come everyone has an intermediate shaft and my car just has a 3 1/2 foot axle for the passenger side?

The Fiero intake will clear the distributor.

Sharkey, I love the black wrinkle finish. I was torn between that and satin black when I painted mine, but ended up with the satin finish. You are making me serious rethink my decision.

            Is that a custom header?

thats the way the fiero intake sits on a fiero. the biggest issue ive had in that sence is actualy the water neck. if i used the cavy water neck, it would be right were the throttle body sits, and if i use just the top peice of it, the distributor doesnt go in. im in the middle of welding one up.

Have you looked at the APV front end and watter neck? just tossing a bone.

i may have to make a quick trip to the wreckers tomorow. although i thought they still have it come out on the front of the motor. mine comes off the back.

finnished the exaust today, and fired it around 5. fired right up, no problems whatsoever. all i can say is wow, this is one v6 you gotta hear to believe!!! its got the neat "tingy" header noise and sounds so cool.
