i dunno if anyone has tried this or not but ive been trying to get ahold of some 1inch thick aluminum. the reason is is i figure if i make spacers for the upper intake and just use two gasket set it will enlongate the runners making quite a bit more low end torque and some ponies in the high end also. Has anyone tried this and if so what kind of gains were made?

    RE: intake plates

Zip, zero, ziltch. Oh, and they make the intake touch the hood and bow up slightly as well...

Looks like they could be used to make some room for a Nozzle system.

even still the nozzle system wouldnt work at all with the added clearance. Dont forget the injectors go in on an angle, which then with the addition of the nozzles changes the location of the injectors.

I betcha I could use those plates and put nozzles in.

u dont neccesairly have to put them at angles if u just put a jet on there that shoots perpendicular to the nozzle it self at a 90 degree

No not a fogger nozzle, I was thinking he was refering tot he "nossles" or whatever they are that Shawn tryed to fit in that fit under the rail and into the injector to keep from having to drill holes and plum regular Nitrous Nozzles

A regular fogger or nitrous nozzle would fit fine into the plenums, But the NOS pattented "NOSsles"

Such as what shaun tryed to fit under his rail:

That is exactly what I was refering to Colin. I forgot about Shaun trying them though.

what would shortening the runners do if u milled them?

                        increase hood clearance

                        edit:
probably crush the fuel rails too if you overdo it

                          Just noticed this thread.

THe nosszles should work on the gen 3 intakes if you use spacers. You will need spacers made though.

You can probably get by with 3/4 inch instead of the 1 inch that bszopi had. THis should give smidge more clearence for the hood, and enough for the noszles as well. From the pics it was really really close. The spacers dont' need to be too thick.

Looks like all my pics from that thread have gone into internet limbo.
