    What do spring seats actually DO?

    Also how many would I need. Its the last piece of the valvetrain that I need for my ls2 valvetrain swap. on my 00-02 cali 3400 heads

    The stop the springs from digging holes into the soft aluminum. You absoloutley need them.
    1993 EXT. CAB, 3.4L V6 TBI, 5spd manual. Sonoma

          Im kinda surprised you don't know. Not trying to be a smartass here but 6 cylinder with 1 intake and 1 exhaust per cylinder. 12 total.

            ok thats what i was thinking. I'm surprised too. I know pretty much every part of a motor. Initially thats what i had thought. I even knew it from school(going to school to be a mechanic)

            But by chance.......
            I got a PM from some guy trying to help me out several months ago, I remember he saying that used 25 of them for some reason. I have no clue what he meant. That comment sent me off track lol.

                  I was looking for spring seats for the 87 toyota land cruiser vin 2F. They are suppose to fit so says AaronGtr

                        Agreed. However, you don't have to buy the parts you inquire about at a parts store. You should be able to get lots of info out of them before you even take your wallet out. The CarQuest here in town is great about stuff like that. I've gotten tons of part numbers from them and then bought the stuff on line.
