    RE: 3.1 turbo

You will need computer adustments of some sort no matter what, if you go the boost route. Give us a little more info, like what you're planning for a turbo set up and we can most assuredly help you out.

The easiest thing to do is what I am doing, get a TGP or turbo grand prix memcal, it will plug right into your computer. If you are going to go turbo, you might want to skip the cam, it opens up a whole new bag of worms. if you do the cam, get a custom memcal fom someone like Darth Fiero who will tune specifically for your application.

The issue with just plugging in the TGP memcal is it actually doens't work 100% correctly. For some reason (which no one has answered too satisfaction), several functions do not work as well as they run horribly rich using the Cavalier ECM, the TGP memcal, and the TGP injectors.

For example, a Cavalier ECM with stock TGP Memcal, you end up running around 9:1 fuel ratio after the converter, which of course is way too rich.

i was thinking of using the turbo off the ford tubo coupe for the beretta but if anyone els knows of a better turbo to use i would really apreciate the info as i am mechanicaly inclined but turbocharging is kinda new territory for me also im not sure if i should do the top end swap first and if i go to gen 3 heads i think i will need new pushrods does anyone know where to get them and the dimensions needed ..................................I really want to go fast but i dont want to mess with the ecm because when it comes to wiring and computers im not to sure what i am doing

As far as computer wise..that would be NEW 22lbs injectors, 2bar map sensor, memcal and fuel pump from a 89-90 Turbo Grand Prix. The TGP intake air temp sensor would be nice too ..but it would have to be tapped on your intake manafold. You would still need it since your going to have to ditch your MAFF sensor.

My beretta schematics and TGP schematics ALL fall on the same wiring I/Os. The TGP .727 and the Beretta 730 have the same "Layout" inside too...SAME I/O. SAME LOGIC. Wireing outside to the injectors, O2, and other sensors are the same. My beretta runs fine with the TGP MEMCAL. The only thing that doesn't work is fuel cut...due to prob the fuel pump relay beeing hotwired on my car..(previus owner). Dunno whats up with the "TGP" inspired CAVIs and stock ecms. would be nice to see the wiring and ecm service code to make sure.

If you don't want to mess with things too much..then the Ford 2.3 turbo would be nice.
