  • valvetrain build up...

ok, so since i have spent the better part of 2 hours seaching for more info.... i said fuck it and decided to ask.

im about to put on another set of valve springs and valves.

im ordering the SI valves and ordering a new set of springs to go with.

    here are the questions....

i dont want a stock replacement, i currently have LS1 springs installed. i would prefer something like Crane, Comp, K-motion, etc. for the valve springs.

i KNOW there are people using non "Stock GM" parts. if so, what is being ran? part #'s? what are you using them on? this is going on a 00+ 3400.

if no one has any info about aftermarket brands, then what type of specs should i be looking for?

i THINK the ~1.460 OD springs will work? what about these double spring valve springs? what should the seat pressure be? what is stock? what about the open pressure?

basically, any info would be great. thanks.

my goal is 6800 rpm after a replacement cam is purchased and 18psi.

Dont ask us. Ask your cam maker what the specs should be. If they can't tell you (I would question them as to why) then goto Crane or Comp and find spring specs on a similar cam.
