cant get valve covers on

a buddy has rebuilt a 3.1 for an early 90s cavalier. he installed 1.6 roller rockers and cant get the valve covers back on. i know on the camaros and firebirds, we have to use fiero valve covers to run w/ 1.6s. will those work on his or is there something he may not have done correctly.

the fiero valve covers wont work with aluminum heads. make sure he hasnt put the pushrods in wrong, the longest rods should go on the exhaust valves, outermost rocker from the cam. other than that i dunno what it could be. i have the crane race roller rockers on my 3.1 project and have no fittment problems.

WTF. Crane Gold Race roller rockers fit under Gen II covers. S-10 and Camaro stock covers have MORE clearance than Fiero covers. Who's rockers are you using?

Comp 1.6's and Crane 1.6's both fit under stock valve covers, Never had any problems in the past with either setup.

Something isnt right on his engine if they are not fitting. find out what brand and part number he is using.

If you have not set the prelaod on the rockers that may be the problem. The will sit down lower when adjusted.
