  • Computer Performance Chip add-ins.

    I have an 88 s15 with the 2.8l v6 (Vin R)

I've been looking at small performance stuff, i've already done the caddy hat "CAI" and remove the clutch fan, with the new trans it has new life to it.

I'd like to install a Chip but I'll also be running a 3.4 by december (Hopefully)

What i am wondering is, if the chip for the 2.8 will work ok with the 3.4 once i get it installed with the 4.3 injectors using my 2.8's computer?

    THANKS

sorry to reply without an answer, but i was wondering if the "caddy hat" is referring to building an air intake from a TBI caddy v-8? i am actually doing this now and have not heard of anyone else who has done this besides the person that i got the idea from. did it do much for your performance?

Lots of people have done the caddilac tbi hat trick.

Dont bother with the chips. They all suck ass and are so generic they never work good.

If you want a real job done get the swap finished and get a chip burnt on a dyno. They you will have the real shit.

ive heard a lot of people say that getting a chip made on a dyno is better. how expensive is it? do you have to expose the computer before going to the dyno to get the chip made, or do they make it and then you can put it in at your own convenience?
