  • 3x00 regrind

anyone know what the specs would be for a good regrind for a 3100/3400 hybrid. i want something thatll keep a nice idle but give me good low/mid power.

i dont know a whole lot about cams but any help would be appreciated.

About a 256 to 266 intake duration and a 270 to 280 exhaust duration. Lift between 460 and 500 (A little higher on the exhaust). LSA 112*

A cam in that range will idle just fine and keep the ECM happy too

k is that like at different lift than what it says in the 3x00 performance section on this site? it says there:

Discussions on the forums have indicated that a good performance grind for these engines would have a duration of 206º intake / 210º exhaust (@ 0.050" lift) and a lobe lift around 0.295". This should still give you good idle quality, yet provide a gain in performance.

those are a lot smaller numbers than what u said. but it looks like one may be at .05" and another at .oo1". would that be right?

Correct. betterthanyou's numbers are seat-to-seat (0.005" lift) instead of 0.050" measurements.

Don't be stupid about your choice. Many newbies pic cams that are WAY TOO BIG for what they do with the car. Then they can't drive the damn thing and get pissed off because the ECM spits codes at them.

When you start shopping post specs here before your final descision and we can help you choose.
