When i did my valvetrain i converted to the Gen1 rocker studs so i could use the adjusting locknuts. Got mine from a 2.8L Blazer. Not sure if the lower thread pitch/size on the Gen3 heads is the same as the older counterparts, but if so its an alternative.

I just noticed that you are in B.C. I should stop by, i'm going there in may :P
Where did you search? Go straight to Crane Cams website. Look under Crane Gold Race rockers there are near the bottom. The Crane set comes with the conversion studs.

Ok. i went straight to crane cam's website. looked for the crane gold race rockers. and found them. Now I apologise, because i don't know which one is right one i need. I see 4 options under the rockers for the ls1/ls6. and 2 options under the extrude roller section.

        extrude roller ones:

25759-12 are the ones you want. You could be the guinea pig for the LS1 ones if you want, but not sure you want to shell out $400+ on a set of rockers that may not work.

Not really sure why you are looking at those rockers anyway since you were concerned about the price of ARP studs. I'd buy ARP studs WAAAAAY before I ever upgraded the rockers.

Thanks brad. I NOW plan to buy the arp studs. This has been a learning experience for me. And i'm not even a tenth done.

I'm still kinda confused with the studs and the rockers. I have to do a little research with why these studs are a must to have. And how rocker ratio helps performance.

All in all this a great site with a great staff. Thanks.

What about the Harland Sharp rockers? I'll have to see if I can find a part number.......

Aren't the ones that "fit under center bolt valve covers" narrow body rockers?

The stud is what the rocker is attached to. The reason you need the stud is because all 60* V6's use a 10mm thread in the cylinder head. However all (well pretty much all) SBC rockers use a 3/8" hole in the rocker trunion. So a special stud is needed (be it from any source) to convert the threads.

You can but thoes harland sharp rockers posted above if you want. But you then still need the conversion studs from ARP

Ok. I understand. I never really saw any close ups of rockers while on a set of heads. But I have an idea now.

what do you think of miltzy's stage 2 cam?
                        Stage 2: .347/.349 lobe lift, 222/226 duration, LSA = 110, 106 intake center

vs my regrind that i have listed at the top? kinda curious on how that would run on a stock computer? Eventually i would downgrade my computer to get it tuned. Would that cam work with the setup i'm trying to do?

That stage 2 cam is a litle on the wicked side. DO NOT expect it to idle. Without PCM tuning it will run very rich at idle. That cam will not make good vacuum. I would never go for it. the LSA is too narrow and the torque curve will peak very fast.

That and he states that you MUST (although I would say should) use his Stage 2 heads with the cam. There's another $1000 right there.

Yeah, I really don't like the cam specs either. It idles, cause I've seen a video of a car with one, but it was pretty rough. About as rough as mine was. The change in LSA would cause some other issues which mine didn't have though...

Well the head work i'm doing would amount to the same as his stage 2 heads. Now you said as rough as yours was. Whats the story there?
