i think if i came across one of those id sell it, i dont like open decks, the idea of the lack of support disgusts me, and no way in hell am i going with aluminum liners either. just my 2 cents, not shooting anyone down. and since you cant get the 3.4+L within tolerances on the bowtie, i'll stack my desire for an alumnum block as number 100 on my list of 10 priorities for this car. none of them seem so impressive as to make me burn for one.

Are the 3.9 liter guys going to start saying how they dont' wanta 3400 because you can't bore it big enough to make it a 3900 so therefor its crap?
God I swear. give it a rest. That extra .1 or .2 doesnt' make a big difference in power.
And the Bowtie block can be bored to 92mm just like the Gen 3 block. GM did it back in the day.

since i want more N/A power, yes the extra .1 or so makes a difference to me, or in the case of the 3900, the extra 500cc's over the 3.4. or since my car started as a 2.8 the 3900 is a whopping 1.1L bigger. for the cost i belive the extra power from an iron block 3900 is worth the trade for an aluminum 3.4l bowtie. how about the obvious performance possibilities of the 99mm bore (boosted applications) and better heads with larger valves that won't fit the current bore.
the bowtie block isnt worth 3-4K in my book. if it were more up to date with the current displacements, or better, id want one.
we all have opinons, its just a hobby, no need to be all hostile because i want 100cc's.If you aren't friends with a liar, you aren't friends with anyone.

Prototype doesnt nessisarily mean better...
...GM used aluminum liners in those "fantastic" Caddy motors that became a black spot on Cadillac history.
Its a nice block dont get me wrong. Hell i wanted Shauns when he had the same one. But seriously if your going to boost it i would totally resleeve it. sleeves are cheap and so is the machining.
Seriously, dont get wrapped up in the hype of finding an "prototype aluminum" block and pee yourself like a weak bladdered school girl every time you post a pic of it.
The block is probably ready for sleeves thats why the bores are cast like that. meaning that someone hasnt finished it yet by installing the sleeves.
Contact Falconer Racing as they are the only ones I know that actually built that block up.1984 Indy Fiero 3.4L

Donk, the only time I pee myself is when I bust out laughing at your cars spoiler :P No seriously, I have a weak bladder and I dont like to be made fun of for it so lay off.
seriously though, the bores have a fresh hone in them along with the block having GM rings in it. The block is supposed to use the aluminum sleeves. I will not be boosting it though.......................for now, I dont have the money. Id have to sell fierobsessed my w41 for his turbo setup if I wanted to do it now.
