Well I started to mess with the program and I over did it and broke a piston. Also it just plain wore out. THe wearing out part just elludes me though....I'm sure I was very meticulous when I put it all back together....Had to've been somthing that got in there... The cam, all bearings, and the crank were shot.

Yeah for some reason when you break these motors in, to me anyways they sound like heavy machinery.....Weird sounding. But yeah those AeroChambers really mask the bad stuff and keep the good sound, mostly that outboardyness boat sound. The engine itself doesn't put out any raspy notes regardless. I've noticed when you start doing things to it like I do, the raspyness kinda gets diluted. But one of the main reasons why I even got involved in these engines was because when I was younger I was standing on a street corner and a 2.8Auto Cavalier cruised by me. I'd say it was running at like 2300 rpm because it was making that pulsy, boaty, hard working sound. Kinda gave me a charge.
Jon, Yeah this is essentially the same motor you saw a couple of years ago. But I had to tear it down due to my neglegence in tuning, and for some reason it just wore out pretty bad.Lorenzo

I know after tuning he could run his old engine on 89 and be fine. Its really all about tuning with these engines when bumping up the CR.-Brad-

Well I just spent $35 to fill up the car with high test...doesn't matter since regular is like $2.20.....Got to drive it around some more. The bottom end feels as good as it used to but at 3000(not 3500-4000)+ it's making power and hard. Flooring it at like 65 makes the nose do funny things. Its strong from idle on up and the valvetrain is amazingly quiet.... Curious as to whether or not the HV oil pump has anything to do with it. At high RPM the oil psi is at like 75. Idle it's 55-60. I do have new lifters but I also know in th epast these GEN3 lifters like to act funny. It's running rich, with my BLM on hold the Integrator is at 97. I raised the idle to 1100. Overall its running fine except at like oh maybe at 5% throttle at cruise, lock-up enabled the engine will shake the car, something is out of whack there.. Start up is good cold..Hot it will start but will try to die in a few seconds. Transmission is working fantastic as is everything else. Despite the fact the car sat nose up all winter. I got my pushrods yesterday so I'll be putting them in today and check the computer and see whats up. Eitherway, its a good little engine, and seems happy to operate...... Should give a factory 3800 SC a run for the money....Lorenzo

I wish my damn 4T60 would lockup. Im not sure if its the solenoid or what but it only locks up at exactly 90mph as tested on the wonderful NJTP. I have the HV pump on my car as well an at idle mine drops down to a little about the lower red portion, maybe 10ish psi. Are you sure your gauge is reading correctly? And ya never answered my question about the track, I want to see this thing.

I usually go to E-Town or Island Dragway. Yeah my gauge is correct. You don't have lockup at all? ehk... PM me your AIM adress.Lorenzo

Tuning...by altering the parameters of the computer so it can better manage the engine/tranmission. Common software to make adjustments is WINBIN which you can find online for free. As to compatibilty depends on if the software can support your year computer.Lorenzo

oh, i know what tuning is. i was wondering what was availible. i was under the impression that there wasnt any options for the OBD 1 v-6's. i personally have a 95 camaro and cant find anything for it. I was wondering if there would be options for me as far as the stuff that you are using or if it could even be adapted in some manner to my application.
