RE: simple cam question
On a flat tappet cam, you always replace the lifters with the cam, so yes, you need too replace the lifters. If you had the 3100 top end on there already with pushrods that fit, you might be able too reuse them, but Colin or someone like that could answer that question better than I (since I haven't done a hybrid yet).

RE: simple cam question
the 260 cam is a stock replacment, meant to go right in place of the stock cam, no other mods required (its a good idea to do better valve springs). if you already have a the correct leangth pushrods for the motor with a stock cam, you wont need to change them, they will work.

What? NO you can't reuse lifters on a flat tappet cam. You don't need DIFFERENT lifters but you do need NEW ones.1993 EXT. CAB, 3.4L V6 TBI, 5spd manual. Sonoma

i think i read somewhere the rule of thumb is you can use used lifters on a used cam, or new lifters new cam, and some stupid obvious new lifters used cam, but no, never the new cam used lifters, not worth the saving a few $ to kick the door wide open for problems. it didnt come with lifters? If you aren't friends with a liar, you aren't friends with anyone.

On a regrind....you need new lifters regardless. Used ones might be pumped up or are leaking badly..no pumping up and the bottom of the lifters is not flat anymore. If it were roller...then that be different...just bleed the lifters before install or check for consistant pump up/blead down.88 Beretta GTU turbo . 90 Black ASC/McLaren TGP, awaiting 4t80. 2003 Grand AM se 3400/4t45 daily grind.
