    if your gonna spend money on a chip, get a custom one, if you have mods/built motor. it will cost more, but probably better off. one-size-fits-all is ok for stock, pretty much all it does is advance the timing curve so you get a little more power in the lower rpms, probably doesnt help peak hp at all. If you have the cold t-stat, you get away with more timing advance. probably adds fuel to keep it cool too.

    for $200 you could make a cai probably get better results.

      Ok thanks. I figured there was not too much benefit to getting those. I will be fabbing up a CAI this spring, already have the intake itself. I'm looking into a custom chip, basically I don't want any changes other than the limiter removed. Since I probably won't be beefing up any internals I don't need to change the shift points anyway.

        Figure out where your ECM is. Then try to find something that looks even remotely like that picture. I doubt you will. Since you have a W-Body 3100, your ECM is a flash unit, not a PROM unit. IOW, that site is wrong. But like I said, find your ECM and prove me wrong...
